As our beaver meeting fell the day before Shrove Tuesday and as our last meeting before half term, we decided to treat the kids to pancakes with whatever toppings they desired because they had worked so hard on all the badge work from the previous weeks. Surprisingly, the toppings list contained a lot of fruit rather then confectionery items. They all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and being sent home with sugar rushes and full tummies.
